A collection with a Milanese character
The Watch Art Grand Exhibition runs from 2 to 18 October 2026 at CityOval in Milan’s CityLife district. Alongside watches and displays exploring the manufacture, visitors can see artisans and watchmakers at work. The seven limited editions extend that encounter with the city: Milan appears in their decoration and inscriptions, while Italian is used on several displays.
For us, the appeal lies in the range of ideas. A new colour can change the feel of a familiar design; elsewhere, the movement provides the real departure. The collection has a clear shared identity without asking every watch to play the same role.
5978P-010: the mechanical centrepiece
Reference 5978P-010 brings together Patek Philippe’s manually wound chronograph movement and an instantaneous perpetual calendar for the first time. Its new CH 29-535 PS QI calibre comprises 500 components. The platinum case measures 42 mm, and production is limited to 120 pieces.
A navy dial, Italian calendar indications and red accents give this grand complication a distinctive presence. The composite strap reinforces the contrast between its intricate construction and sporting appearance. This is the watch to examine for the technical development behind the Milan launch.

5167A-014: a different mood for the Aquanaut
The Aquanaut 5167A-014 retains a 40.8 mm steel case and the automatic 26-330 S C calibre. Its blue sunburst dial darkens towards the edge, with a red minute track and seconds hand adding contrast. A midnight blue composite strap completes the design. The edition comprises 250 pieces.
The red catches the eye, while the familiar embossed dial preserves the Aquanaut’s identity. The appeal is primarily visual: a change in colour strong enough to give a well-known shape a different character.

Green, white and red, each with a distinct purpose
Three white gold watches share 38 mm cases and dials with a carbon-like pattern. The green 7147G-010 combines a perpetual calendar and moon phases with the automatic 240 Q calibre. Calendar indications are in Italian, and the edition is limited to 100 pieces.
The white Calatrava 7007G-010 displays hours, minutes, central seconds and the date. Limited to 200 pieces, it offers a simpler dial layout, with charcoal grey details contrasting against the white dial and strap.
The red 7047G-010 houses a minute repeater, sounding the time on demand. Its automatic R 27 PS calibre uses two classic gongs. With only five pieces announced, it is among the smallest editions in this group. Together, the trio recalls the Italian flag, while offering three very different ways to experience a watch.
5531G: Milan by day and by night
References 5531G-012 and 5531G-013 put craftsmanship at the centre of the dial. Grand Feu cloisonné enamel depicts central Milan by day on the first and by night on the second. City names appear in Italian, with Milan picked out in red.
Both white gold watches combine World Time and a minute repeater that strikes the local time in the zone shown at 12 o’clock. Each is limited to five pieces. Their appeal lies in both the enamel work and the relationship between display and sound: watches that invite close attention, followed by careful listening.

The announced edition sizes describe production, not current availability. Any acquisition enquiry should therefore focus on the exact reference and a verifiable offer; a new launch does not imply immediate access to a watch.
