Our reading is that the marque wants a presence that is recognisable at once. The long bonnet, despite the electric powertrain, contributes to that intention. The aim appears to go beyond signalling a new means of propulsion: this is a shape intended to carry a new identity.
Four seats, four individual spaces
Inside, a central spine extends through the cabin, dividing it into four individual spaces. The driving position is low, while the colour palette takes inspiration from travertine; that should not be mistaken for a claim that the cabin is made of stone. Concealed storage and integrated interfaces continue the effort to simplify the visible interior.
This approach will interest anyone who values the passenger’s place as much as the driver’s. In a grand tourer, comfort also depends on ease of entry, visibility and room to move. The presentation establishes an aesthetic direction; a road test will show how it works in everyday use.
Power tells only part of the story
Jaguar quotes an output of more than 1,000 PS for Type 01. That is a manufacturer figure, not the finding of an ABJ road test. In any case, it describes only one part of a grand tourer’s appeal.
The response of the controls, ride quality, quietness and long-distance comfort will be just as interesting to discover. Here, luxury also means how effortlessly a car works with its driver. Beyond its appearance, this is where Type 01 will need to make its case.
Looking towards 2027
Jaguar plans to open orders in early 2027, with first customer deliveries expected in the second half of the year. That announced schedule does not confirm UAE availability or the precise specification for every market.
