Art Basel Paris 2026: making time to look

A few minutes in front of an artwork can change a first impression. A material comes into focus, a composition reveals itself or a conversation opens another way of seeing. From 23 to 25 October 2026, Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais with many reasons to pause.

An international perspective beneath the glass roof

The fair’s fifth edition brings together 211 exhibitors from 41 countries and territories across Galeries, Emergence and Premise. Around thirty galleries are taking part for the first time, creating opportunities to revisit familiar names and encounter new perspectives.

A fair of this scale welcomes different ways of looking. Some visitors have followed particular artists for years; others arrive with a more open curiosity. An unexpected work between two planned stops may become the most memorable discovery.

Among the works in the Galeries 2026 press selection, Carl-Édouard Keïta’s Bassori and Gonaté is presented by Galerie Cécile Fakhoury. Its figures and contrasting colours offer a first glimpse of the encounters this edition has in store.

Room for a conversation

A fair offers direct contact with galleries. Understanding an artist’s approach, placing a work within their career or learning how it was made can add depth to the experience.

We favour a visit with room for that freedom: a few points of reference, then time to look and ask questions. Attention rarely develops at the same pace as a checklist of stands.

The city joins the conversation

The Public Program extends the fair across several Parisian locations. Three monumental bronze sculptures by Tracey Emin are announced for the Parvis des Droits-de-l’Homme at the Trocadéro, from 14 October to 8 November. Within the fair, Oh La La! returns on 23 and 24 October. Art-directed by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, it invites galleries to change their presentations around the theme of myths and legends.

The Grand Palais is the meeting point; Paris offers reasons to keep exploring. For an art enthusiast, an exhibition elsewhere in the city can become the natural continuation of a conversation begun at the fair.

A visit shaped by curiosity

Artstorming offers guided visits in French and English for groups of up to twelve people. These can provide context for visitors who would appreciate a guided introduction. The most rewarding format leaves room for questions and for returning to works that hold your attention.

ABJ can help coordinate your local journeys and arrangements around your visit, according to your plans.
